On to the General!

As summer winds down, we’re ramping up for the general election. While I am eager to begin drafting policy and building relationships with fellow legislators, I still have another election to win.

We are going to do that the same way we have built this campaign from the beginning: by talking directly with people. We are hosting town halls, knocking doors, and expandinf our peer-to-peer outreach across the district.

Most importantly, we will stay focused on what I hear again and again from the people I meet: we want Montana to be a place where our families can thrive. That means making it easier to afford a home, supporting strong public schools, protecting access to healthcare and clean water, defending our freedoms, and building an economy that works for people who live and work here.

Support MaryAnn Dunwell for Senate District 42!

We must hold the line.

In addition to keeping SD 41 blue, there are three very important races to support this cycle so that we can keep and possibly grow our voting block in the Montana Senate. Remember, it was 18 Democrats in the Montana Senate that renewed Medicaid, protected our impartial courts, and more.

MaryAnn Dunwell cast a critical vote on all of our accomplishments. We need her to return and she needs our help! As a result of redistricting, SD 42 has a very close margin. We need MaryAnn and she needs our support. I hope you will donate, volunteer, and reach out to her campaign to offer your support in whatever way that you can. Rob and I are personally pitching in monthly so MaryAnn can count on our support as she makes critical campaign decisions.

Two other close races to track are Scott Rosenzweig, (SD 29- Park & Gallatin Counties) and Margaret Mitchell (SD 10- Great Falls). We have the chance to turn 18 votes into 20 and keep bringing balance and compromise to the Montana State Senate.

Rhubarb Shrub

Despite the smoke and the heat, the garden rhubarb is still thriving! After tarts, squares, pies, and of course, tucking some into the freezer for February, I’m still finding delicious ways to use it. This rhubarb shrub is lovely mixed with club soda, sparkling wine, or your favorite cocktail. It pairs perfectly with the joys of summer’s dog days, especially when they’re accompanied by the crisp, clean air the rain brought us this week.

The primary is behind us, but the work ahead is just as important. We need to purchase more yard signs, pay for digital ads that share our values and priorities in our own words, and support the local organizations that are hosting our town hall conversations.

If you're able to chip in $10, $25, or whatever feels right, it goes straight into reaching voters across SD41 this Fall.
